Overview

I was order Macintosh LC. It was sold as worked computer, but based on photo I was see some capacitors was leaked. I hope it doesn’t affect and plan to repair it after, but … computer doesn’t work when I plug power and turn it on.

No worries, I say, lets clean motherboard and recap it. Oh life is bad game, plans and reality sometimes completely different. After cleaning motherboard I found some legs on EGRET and 8L08A dc-dc convertor for PDS bus was absent due to capacitors acid. Anyway, I plan to recap, so lets do it. Ok. I found great resource in internet how to recap and complete procedure. Also I found and solder 8L08A - it still on stock (great!).

As a result computer boot successfully, but nothing show on display. Sometimes shit happends.

Update on April 2024. I order another Macintosh LC with cheep price, sold as non-worked with same problem, with keyboard, without one key (power). Good deal! After opening I found same problem (no suprice!) but with intact EGRET (bingo!). Several capacitors need to be ordered, so waits.

Required capacitors: 1 x 1μf 50V, 5 x 47μf 16V, 1 x 100μf 6.3V, 8 x 10μf 16V.

to be continued.
